Short answer

Your blocked amount will remain unchanged if your latest mandate is not accepted after you modify your bid. Once you modify your bid, a notification with the latest mandate request is sent to your UPI app. Click on Authorise to approve the mandate, and your funds will be blocked as per your modified bid. You can accept the UPI mandate until 5 PM on the closing day of the IPO. You can verify your application or mandate status with the application number one day after the bidding date by visiting nseindia.com/products/dynaContent/equities/ipos/ipo_login.jsp.

Example scenario

Consider this scenario:

You have ₹50,000 in your bank account

You apply for 2 lots of an IPO

Amount blocked: ₹30,000 (₹15,000 per lot)

You later modify your order to 3 lots

New mandate sent to UPI app: ₹45,000

Once you accept the mandate: Only an additional ₹15,000 is blocked, not an additional ₹45,000
