The Registrar and Transfer Agents (RTA) credit your dividend. If the RTA cannot credit the dividends directly to your NRE account, they will send a cheque to your registered address. Your dividends are subject to applicable taxes before being credited to your bank account. TDS is deducted at a 20% rate for a non-resident shareholder with an additional surcharge and cess.
