# Why aren't the B and S shortcuts opening the order window?

## Short answer

The B (Buy) and S (Sell) shortcuts will not open the order window if you have not selected a stock first.

To use these shortcut keys:

Click on the up/down keys on the keyboard to select the stock. The selected stocks are highlighted.

Type B (Buy) or S (Sell) in order to open the order window.
