# Why do shares bought for delivery appear under positions on the same day?

> Shares you purchase for delivery using the CNC product type appear under positions on the same day because they haven't settled yet. Your shares will…

## Short answer

Shares you purchase for delivery using the CNC product type appear under positions on the same day because they haven't settled yet. Your shares will move to the Holdings section on T+1 day after settlement.

Showing delivery shares in positions on the purchase day allows you to participate in intraday trading and track your profits and losses on the stocks you bought before they settle into your holdings.
