# What is the lot size for an IPO? - Support Arrow

> Lot size refers to the minimum number of shares that you must purchase. All your orders will be a multiple of the lot size.

## Short answer

Lot size refers to the minimum number of shares that you must purchase. All your orders will be a multiple of the lot size.

For example, consider the IPO of ACD company with a lot size of 32 shares and, price range of ₹450 to ₹465:

To apply for 1 lot: 32 × ₹465 = ₹14,880

To apply for 2 lots: 64 × ₹465 = ₹29,760

Did you know? For SME IPOs, shares can be bought and sold in the secondary market only in multiples of the lot size.
