# Why is the circuit limit showing differently on Arrow after the stocks circuit limit has already been hit?

> You see different circuit limits on Arrow because the exchange adjusts the circuit limit after a stock reaches its initial limit.

## Short answer

You see different circuit limits on Arrow because the exchange adjusts the circuit limit after a stock reaches its initial limit.

When a stock reaches its circuit limit, the exchange temporarily halts trading and adjusts the subsequent circuit limit, which Arrow then displays. NSE (WEB) updates circuit limits on the same day after the market closes at approximately 5:00 PM, while BSE (WEB) updates circuit limits the following day at 6:45 AM before markets open.

You can check current circuit limits for any stock by clicking on the market depth in Arrow.

Circuit limits apply only to equity stocks. Equity derivatives use a dynamic price band of 10% on both sides, which the exchange maintains as a fixed operating range to ensure trading occurs within specified limits and prevent accidental order entries. As prices approach these levels, the exchange relaxes the limits further to accommodate normal trading activities.
