# How to close Arrow demat & trading account?

> You can close your Arrow account online or offline, depending on your account type. The closure process takes 2 working days once you submit your request.

## Short answer

You can close your Arrow account online or offline, depending on your account type. The closure process takes 2 working days once you submit your request.

## Before closing your account

You must complete these requirements before closing your account:

Clear any negative balance in your account

Square off all positions and sell or transfer your holdings to another account

Delete all existing SIPs and mandates from your Arrow account

Download all necessary reports (contract notes, ledger, and P&L statements) by visiting Console, as you cannot access these reports once your account closes

You cannot reopen the same account with the same user ID after closure. You will need to

if you want to trade with Arrow again. A new application for a trading and demat account with Arrow can be denied if the account has been opened and closed multiple times using the same PAN without sufficient justification.

## Closure-cum-transfer

You can opt for closure-cum-transfer with no additional charges. This process transfers your holdings to another demat account while closing your Arrow account. Follow the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for closure cum transfer. Depositories mandate this, and it is applicable to all brokers. Refer to point numbers 10.6.1.1 and 10.6.2.1 in this CDSL operating instructions for depository participants (PDF).

If you are closing your Arrow account because of employer restrictions, you can request iRage to be empanelled as a registered broker with your company.

The account closure request may be rejected if clients have holdings that have undergone corporate actions like bonuses or splits. The account can only be closed once the shares from corporate actions are credited to the demat account.

The Annual Maintenance Charge (AMC) will not be charged to the account from the day the closure request is processed.
