Short answer

Your net settlement amount in the funds statement shows the amount you owe or will receive from your equity trades after deducting charges. This amount will match the amount on your contract note.

Example scenario

Consider the following transactions from your contract note:

Transaction A: You sell Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Ltd (BAJAJHIND)

Your pay-in obligation is ₹806.00

Transaction B: You purchase Sadbhav Infrastructure Projects Ltd (SADBHIN)

Your net calculation: A - B = C ₹806.00 - ₹13,712.65 = ₹(12,906.65)

Your charges will be deducted from or added to your pay-in or payout obligation:

Your total payable amount: ₹12,924.17 This equals ₹12,906.65 (C) + ₹17.52 (charges). Your funds statement will reflect this same amount and debit it from your account.
